Platform Security Engineer / DevSecOps

We are searching for a Platform Security Engineer / DevSecOps.

Please note that this position requires a proven DevOps Engineer, who has extensive experience within Security (DevSecOps)

This 10-month contract will see you working in a team as a sort of incubator within a large company. The company has tens of thousands of employees, however, you will be sitting in this small DevOps team at the forefront of the technological change. 18 months ago the company established this team to revolutionize the way they use technology and as a result they are using the most cutting edge technology available.

They are now entering 'phase two' of their objective, with the main focus being building a global PaaS to be rolled out across the whole company, of which covers three continents. This phase requires you to join the team to lead the security hardening.

Some of the tools you will be working with are as follows: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Vault, Consul, Keycolak, Fabric8, Jenkins, Git, NGINX, Go, Java/NodeJS, Python, Hubot/CoffeeScript, Openstack… Whilst it is expected that there will be some learning on the job, the client have expressed a desire for a candidate to have a firm grasp and working knowledge on the majority of the tools listed.

This project is one of the largest and highest profile Kubernetes projects in the UK today, it is a great company to get in with who value their Engineers - shown through their flexibility and rates they are willing to pay for the right Engineer.

This is a DevOps role (having emphasis on continuous integration, Docker as container technology and Kubernetes for orchestrated/deployment), having a primary focus on Security.

Some responsibilities will include:

- Being responsible for supporting the security of the client's use of cloud technologies - this will include IaaS, Paas, Saas, automation and orchestration (experience in do so is of paramount importance)

- Assessing current security implementations, this includes designing and implementing controls to drastically reduce risk to the client and importantly, it's customers.

- Establishing and instilling industry leading standards and practices in security engineering.

- Building strong and lasting relationships with DevOps and developer teams and providing security leadership.
