Established SysAdmin, looking to move to pure DevOps
Permanent | £40000 - £60000 per annum + benefits | Central London | City of London
We're currently looking for people who feel as if they have reached a glass ceiling as a Linux System Administrator and are looking to join a company who will help with them keep current within the market by making the transition into a DevOps Engineer.
Do you feel as if throughout your career so far, you've been a talented System Administrator, but your production experience has been held back by your current companies lack of ambition to move into DevOps? Perhaps they don't need to change, perhaps they're resistant to it, perhaps they're falling behind the curve - whatever the reason, it may be holding back your chance to work with cutting edge technologies with modern ways of working.
You already do some automation. You're playing with Cloud Technology at home, you dream of one day working on a huge Kubernetes project, and you're a regular on the DevOps meet-up scene. You have an advanced home network set up, make Open Source contributions and have pet projects. The only thing lacking, is what everyone requires - Production Experience.
You thought having worked extensively with Linux Systems, and managing in the infrastructure you would be an excellent fit, however, just as you learnt when you graduated you need 5 years commercial experience working with AWS, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes to even be considered for the position of "Junior DevOps Engineer".
Well, what if we have an option that could offer you the training platform you need?
Our client, and the opportunity with them will offer you the chance to work as an embedded DevOps within pure product teams, working alongside some of the leading lights in the industry.
From day one, you will be fully immersed in an environment which places a huge emphasis on the need for continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, bridging the gap between development and operations.
This is a chance to work extensively with the greatest technologies of today including Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Vagrant, Packer, Python, Scala, Go - with no prior commercial experience necessary., just a passion and enthusiasm for the industry.
Sounds too good to be true? We thought so too, however, with a fantastic training programme where you learn by working on a wide range of projects, this time next year you will be glad you got in contact to hear more about this one.
Please note that no terminology in this advert is intended to discriminate on the grounds of age, and we confirm that we will gladly accept applications from individuals of any age for this role.
